American Adenium · Florence, Kentucky
Engineered for Caudiciform & Desert Succulents
Most potting mixes — even the ones marketed for cacti and succulents — hold too much moisture for Adenium, Plumeria, and Pachypodium. I know because I spent years watching plants struggle in commercial mixes before developing Desert Oasis Media specifically for cold-climate desert plant growers.
Every product in this line is built on the same foundation: fast drainage, strong aeration, and biological activity that supports the plant through every stage of the growing year.
The base medium for all repotting. Goes in the pot and stays there through the full active season.
Built on a 70% inorganic foundation — coarse pumice and perlite that drain freely, never compact, and keep the root zone oxygenated year-round. Pine bark fines provide slow-release carbon and microbial habitat. Sphagnum peat gives just enough moisture retention without the excess that causes rot.
Activates root growth at the start of the season. Use at first repot or as a 1–1.5" top-dress layer.
The most biologically active product in the Desert Oasis line. Elevated worm castings deliver an immediate nutrition pulse. Kelp meal — the signature ingredient — supplies natural cytokinins that signal dormant roots and buds to break. Mycorrhizal inoculant recolonizes the root system at the most critical moment of the growing year.
Surface application that fuels the vegetative push through the active growth window without disturbing the caudex.
Applied as a 1" surface layer once plants are in active vegetative growth, Spring Top Dress delivers a steady nitrogen-forward nutrition pulse through the period of fastest spring development. No flush-and-crash cycle — just a slow, biology-driven nitrogen supply that works with the plant's natural growth schedule.
